- Ridden 19,000+ miles on my ten-year old Trek 520 touring bicycle. Started in 2003 with a 6,711 mile ride from California to Minnesota via Florida, followed by 4,847 miles from Minnesota back to California in 2006 to complete an around-the-country bicycle adventure. Also rode 1,872 miles thru Germany, Austria, Slovakia, the Czech Republic & Poland in 2008. Then rode 814 miles in Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa & Missouri in 2009. Most recently rode 5,007 miles in 2012 from Virginia to Spain via Canada, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Scotland, England, the Channel Islands and France.
